Hey there! Some of you might already know me and know my story…some of you might be coming to my site for the first time and are just now learning about little ol’ me!  Well, my name is Jesica Clay…Yes, I typed only one ”s” in Jesica on purpose.  I used to hate that my name was different than all the other “normal” spellings of the name but now I love that it is unique, even though it gets misspelled all…the…time.

So like I was saying, my name is Jesica Clay! I have had my business for almost 8 years now. Photography has always been a huge passion of mine so to be able to do it for a living has been surreal to me. Early on, I was able to learn the craziness and awesomeness that is wedding photography.  I fell in love with it immediately and knew that was what I wanted to do. Photography became a part time job where I would do a shoot or wedding here and there, but it was always on the back burner behind my full-time job that I had.

I became a teacher and coach in the fall of 2013 and thought that was what I wanted to do.  My thought was that I would still do photography when I had the time.  The problem was that I never seemed to have the time.  I was always working late on the weekdays with practice and/or games and usually working or coaching tournaments on the weekends-leaving me no time for much else.  Spending time with my family was all I wanted to do during any of the off the little time I did have, so let’s just say that my photography business took a bit of a back seat.

After 4 years of teaching and missing the time to be able to pursue my photography business as I would like to, my dear husband, Mr. William Clay saw that I wasn’t happy at my current job and told me I should go for my dream of becoming a full-time photographer. Words can’t describe the relief this gave me and it also gave me so much confidence in myself to go for my dream.  So, I went for it! In June of 2017, my business became a full-time machine!

I spent all summer learning everything I possibly could about the “business” of photography from a handful of amazing, inspirational photographers.  Jasmine Star, Amy and Jordan Demos, and Jenna Kutcher to name a few…from podcasts, to webinars, to online modules, my summer was dedicated to learning as much as I could from these people who had figured it out and were so eager to help and educate others to get where they are.  I was able to MEET all of these idols of mine at a photography conference just this last November in Phoenix at Showit United. It was an unbelievable experience to say the least.

So here I am.  We are approaching the end of the 2017 calendar year.  I can honestly say that I am so proud of myself.  Looking back just to June of this year, the knowledge and experience I have gained since then is profound. Thank you to all my friends and family that believe in me whole heartedly and especially to my husband who didn’t bat an eye when he told me to go for it and shoot for my dreams.

So, the good news is that I am now available for all of you! I want to serve you and create the best photography experience you can possibly have.  If I have worked with you before, I hope you had a great experience – I know that I can’t wait for the next opportunity to work with you! And, if you haven’t met or worked with me, I can’t wait until our paths cross!

Here are a few of my favorite images of my amazing clients of 2017…ENJOY!
